The Tinker
Outside a rural home, a blizzard rages.
Waiting out the storm, Frank and Evelyn receive an unexpected knock on their door. The man on their porch isn’t what they expected, yet the Tinker has a way with words and a talent for fixing broken things. All he asks for in return is a night’s shelter.
But he has brought something with him in his cart that will cause the couple’s past and future to collide over the space of a few short hours, all under the watchful eye of the snow.
A twisting, unsettling tale that asks what we are willing to believe about the strangers at our door.
The Tinker has been shortlisted for the EPTEP Award and the Masterclass Pitch Your Play competition. The play debuted at VAULT festival 2023.

BIOSPHERE
As climate change presents a fork in the road of human evolution, one eccentric entrepreneur has erected a beacon of hope: The Biosphere, an artificial enclosed set of ecosystems, designed to replicate Earth’s delicate balance seamlessly. A great glass ark, into which, two by two, four scientists are sealed.
With the world watching through the glass, the taste of salvation on the horizon and a business model on the line, this is no ordinary experiment. As the atmosphere around them begins to change, passions fray and hunger sets in. Sealed together to find the answers to survival, what will they sacrifice to succeed?
Based on the real 1991 experiment, BIOSPHERE takes an infamous true story and transports it into the current storm of science, tech and Mars colonisation. Examining where we find our truth, our heroes and our choices in the digital Holocene, this new play asks who we should follow to salvation - and whether we are capable of choosing at all.
BIOSPHERE received a staged reading at Pleasance Theatre as part of the Pleasance Futures Festival in December 2022.
